Shadex's Builds Empty Priest

Post  Shadex Thu Sep 20, 2007 1:28 pm

Priest Guide:

There are a lot of talents available to the priest, and it can be difficult
trying to decide which talents to take. Considering how expensive it is to
respec, it's good to have a plan for your points suited to however you want to
play the game. To aid you to that end, here a few of my favorite
specializations for the priest class.

Discipline Priest Build's
The advantage of being able to do damage without sacrficing your direct heals
should not be overlooked for a PvP Priest, and Discipline has ways of doing
damage with considerably more survivability than a Shadow Priest. A short foray
into Holy gets a few necessary talents: Healing Focus, Divine Fury, the basics,
as well as Holy Reach and Searing Light, since your primary damage spell will be
Smite. In the Discipline tree, you get a few mana conservation talents for
prolonged battles, while Reflective Shield and Force of Will make sure the enemy
will be hurting. Your main goal in these talents is to get to Pain Supression,
immesurably useful when up against more than one opponent with your priest.
PvP Discipline Build

Holy Priest Build's
If all you want to do with your priest is heal, this is the build for you. You pick up some key
mana management talents in Discipline, such as Meditation and Inner Focus, and
go as far down as Improved Divine Spirit to provide a very nice buff to your
groups. You pick up some healing staples of the Holy tree, but skip the talents
with less focus on keeping group members alive. While you have will have big
heals and great longevity while healing with this build, you are very
ineffective at dealing damage and are a bit too squishy for PvP healing, so if
you plan to do something other than instances or raids you may want to try
another build for your priest.
Holy Priest PVE Build

Shadow Priest Build's
A Shadow Priest that focuses on dealing damage in PvP n PvE. A short trip into
Discipline gets you some survivability with Improved Power Words: Fortitude and
Shield, and Martyrdom helps your easily-interruptable Mind Flay. In the Shadow
tree, you pass up on mana regeneration and threat talents to go for high damage
as fast as you can, plus Silence to help with those pesky mages and warlocks.
Shadow Power aids in getting those big crits for getting enemy players or Mobs down
fast.
PvE Shadow Build
PvP Shadow Build

My Hybrid Build
So you want to do some PvP and grinding when you're flying solo with your priest, but you still
want to have some healing talents to do well in groups? In Discipline you
definitely want to pick up the mana conservation talents, as they help in both
PvP and instances. Martyrdom, Improved Power Word: Shield, and Force of Will
all help to add some survivability and power to your priest PvP battles. In Holy, you
of course pick up the healing staple talents, but on your way down you pick up
Blessed Recovery and Searing Light, always useful in PvP, and finish up the tree
with Surge of Light, a very useful DPS talent that you unfortunately cannot
reach if you're going deep into Discipline. While not as effective as either of
the more pure builds, this can keep you pretty good at everything without having
to pay to respec your priest when you want to shift objectives.
Hybrid Build

These Build May not Work 100% Because they are not Testet on Bwow

Shadex's Builds Empty Warlock

Post  Shadex Thu Sep 20, 2007 1:28 pm

Warlock Guide
The Warlock has arguably the most variety in the way they fulfill their one
purpose. While a warlock can't really do anything besides spell DPS, they can choose
to do it with powerful damage-over-time attacks, with considerable aid from
their demon allies, or through overpowering nukes. All of their tactics are
deadly and no Warlock, regardless of spec, should be taken lightly. How you
choose to deal out death, however, is up to you.

Affliction Build's
Affliction is the DoT tree of the Warlock, powering up your attacks such as
Corruption and Immolate while giving you two new DoTs as you work your way
through the tree. While the Improved Curse of Weakness or Agony talents
generally don't give enough reward for the points, and Shadow Embrace doesn't
have enough impact on your opponents for the five points it asks (better to kill
the mob faster), it's worth noting that Malediction probably is worth picking up
if you ever plan to raid. Increasing the damage of one or two casters by 3%
won't make a big difference, but when you have ten to fifteen casters
benefitting in the group, it starts being noticable. Skipping the Affliction
talents noted, you're left with sixteen points; this spec gets you the extra
stamina of Demonic Embrace and and an instant cast nuke with Shadowburn, but if
you have other plans you wish to pursue with your points, they're open to you.

Affliction Build

Demonology

The Warlock Demonology tree focuses on your pet demons, both empowering them and making
them empower the warlock to a greater extent. This warlock build intends for you to already be
level 70 with your warlock and not necessarily as a guideline for the way to 70; you would
probably want to pick up Improved Imp or Improved Voidwalker while leveling with your warlock,
then respec out of it when you could reach Summon Felguard. Master Conjurer and
Improved Enslave Demon aren't worth getting for pretty much any situation
imaginable. The leftover points after you finish with the Demonology tree are
well placed in Improved Corruption and Improved Life Tap, with points in
Destruction to gain an instant nuke in Shadowburn.

Demonology Build

Destruction
The Warlock Destruction tree is your nuke tree, arguably most useful for group and raid
DPS. Its focus is on your direct damage spells, such as Shadowbolt and Searing
Pain, and during the course of the tree you gain a few more, namely Shadowburn,
Conflagrate, and Shadowfury. The warlock talents to avoid in Destruction are generally
fairly obvious: Cataclysm and Destruction don't have enough of an effect for
what they're competing against, Improved Firebolt and Lash of Pain are a bit too
situational, there really just isn't room for Searing Pain considering what's
near it, and Pyroclasm isn't anywhere near as good as it sounds (the 26% chance
to stun for Hellfire and Rain of Fire is through the whole duration, meaning
each tick has an abysmally low chance). The non-Destruction points are for the
most part in Warlock staples to aid grinding and survivability. Note that if
you intend to fight with an Imp DPSing at your side, it's probably worth your
while to take two points from Improved Healthstone and three from Soul Leech to
max out Improved Imp and Improved Firebolt, which can make your imp a sufficient
damage dealer.

Shadex's Builds Empty Paladin

Post  Shadex Thu Sep 20, 2007 1:29 pm

Paladin Guide:

The Paladin is infamous amongst other classes for their survivability. Even
untalented, simply wearing plate and having the capacity to heal yourself is not
a pair of skills to be taken lightly. The Paladin can primarily fill two roles, healing
and tanking, when properly talented, either paladin role can be filled with great
success.

Holy Build's
The primary focus of the Holy tree is healing, and that's exactly what this
build sets out to do. Picking up all the good healing and mana conservation
talents on the way down the tree, skipping a few that either have purposes not
suited to your cause (i.e. Divine Strength, Improved Seal of Righteousness) or
not particularly useful or worth their points (Aura Mastery, Blessed Life). The
leftover points find a home going a bit into Protection, where you get a couple
talents, mostly filler, to pick up Blessing of Kings and Improved Concentration
Aura, which combined with Spiritual Focus makes the paladin healing abilities unable to be impacted
by pushback. Not bad at all.

Holy Healing Build

Protection Build's
The second of the roles the Paladin will primarily fill is tanking. The Paladin is arguably the best
in the game at tanking multiple mobs, and with so many talents
reflecting damage back every time the Paladin is attacked, it's easy to see why
that's the case. Improved Devotion and Concentration Auras, Stoicism, and
Weapon Expertise all have minimal impact on tanking, so be sure to pass those
up; Anticipation, while useful, doesn't have as much impact for the paladin class as it
does for the warrior class and the points are better spent elsewhere. But otherwise,
everything else is very useful for getting and holding on to threat. A couple
points in Retribution and the first five in Holy help with mana management, and
Improved Seal of Righteousness produces a solid chunk of damage and consequently
threat.

Tanking Build

Retribution Build's
The Paladin is not known for their damage dealing. Protection or Holy are
arguablt better overall for PvP due to the survival the trees afford. Still, if
you want to do damage, this is your tree -- just make sure you have a nice, slow
weapon, preferably slower than 2.1 seconds, to make full use of Seal of Command.
The talents skipping in the tree really don't warrant too much attention, for
even if they sound good on paper, the actual effect isn't as profound (for
example, Improved Seal of the Crusader accounts for about 35 spell damage at
70). The fifteen spare points go into some base stat enhancement in Holy,
helping your mana, strength, and healing efficiency.

Shadex's Builds Empty Druid

Post  Shadex Thu Sep 20, 2007 1:29 pm

Druid Guide

The Druid is arguably the most unique class in World of Warcraft. Depending on
your talent specialization, the druid can do quite literally every major job in the
game: Tanking, healing, melee DPS, and spell DPS. As such, the three talent
trees of the Druid are relatively self-contained to do whatever job you choose,
and have some of the best talents in the game for your chosen role in each of
them. Played well, the versatility of the Druid makes it an extremely difficult
opponent to take down.

Feral Build's
Feral is one of the most popular Druid trees, primarily because investing fully
in the tree gives you all the talents you need to effectively fill two roles:
tanking and melee DPS. In the Feral tree, there are really only two talents
that aren't worth getting as long as you're performing one of those two duties:
Feral Agression's effects simply aren't worth the five points when compared to
the rest of the tree, and Nurturing Instinct's healing bonuses can be safely
passed if you aren't healing as a major role -- and if you plan to, the
Feral/Resto hybrid druid build further down the three will probably be more up your
alley. The eleven points in Restoration go a very long way to aid Feral
viability, as all three talents picked up have strong benefits to feral forms as
well as aid in shapeshifting and getting off quick heals, which is a large part
of the survivability of a Feral Druid.

Feral Build

Balance Build's
The talents in the Druid's Spell DPS tree, while very good, don't quite measure
up to the extra role gained by going Feral or the obvious group appeal of
Restoration. Still, if that's the role you wish to pursue and are willing to
chase down the right druid gear to do it, a Moonkin build can serve you well. As is the
case with most Druid pure builds, it's easier to tell you what not to get:
Control of Nature's casting protection is simply not worth the three points it
asks of you. Brambles, while not so bad a talent in and of itself, is easily
passed over for better talents. Improved Faerie Fire can be good if you plan on
doing groups or raids as a Balance Druid -- if that's the case, it's advised to
take three out of Celestial Focus to put into that talent. The remaining points
are put into a few Restoration talents. Improved Mark of the Wild is good
considering you're unlikely to shift into Feral forms very often, while the
healing speed granted by Naturalist and the mana saved via Natural Shapeshifter
help you in throwing out heals when necessary.

Balance DPS Build

Restoration
Many of the talents in the Druid Restoration tree are the envy of every other
healing class in the game. It's very difficult to argue against taking any of
them as long as you plan to primarily heal groups or raids, and as such, the
more Feral-oriented Furor and Balance-oriented Natural Perfection are all you
should reasonably pass up. Tree of Life is somewhat debated, and while it does
have some viability depending on the situation, the limitations it places on you
may not work with your healing style well, so it may take some experimentation
to see how it works for you. The last floating point I chose to put in Nature's
Grasp, simply because that's where I thought it would make the most difference,
but minor tweaks are as always up to you.

Restoration Build

these Build's are maybe really bugged on Bwow i havent Testet them there...

Shadex's Builds Empty Warrior

Post  Shadex Thu Sep 20, 2007 1:30 pm

Warrior Guide
(not 100% done)

The warrior has fantastic potential. It can be a fearsome PvP opponent, deal
impressive damage in instances, and obviously, tank anything that dares
challenge them. To fulfill any of these purposes, however, you need the right
spec. As you level and decide what you want to do with your warrior, these
specs can help give you an idea what talents to get and which to avoid to help
you get everything you want out of your warrior.

Arms Build's
Heavy in burst damage with large 2-handers but lower in sustained DPS compared
to Fury, Arms is primarily a PvP talent tree, and that's the focus of this
build. Iron Will, Weapon Mastery, and Second Wind all help you survive better
against a human opponent. Still, properly geared, an Arms build can do decent
PvE DPS, so you're good for serving that role when the urge to run an instance
strikes you. Dipping a bit into Fury gets you Piercing Howl and Commanding
Presence, the former very useful for escaping any undesirable situation and the
latter giving you plenty more attack power or HP with your shouts, always a
boon. Sword Specialization can, of course, be changed to whatever your weapon
of choice is.

Arms DPS Build

Fury Build's
A personal favorite, Fury is very effective at dual wielding weapons and
striking over and over unrelentingly at your opponent. While it doesn't have
quite the burst damage, and thus the PvP effectiveness, of an Arms build, Fury
has higher DPS over time, making it more useful for instances and still more
than able to hold its own in PvP. A small investment in Arms gets you as far
down as Deep Wounds and Impale, both of which very useful considering how often
a Fury warrior has critical strikes. In the Fury tree itself, there are a few
talents, such as Booming Voice, Improved Demoralizing Shout, and Blood Craze,
that aren't very useful in any build, but you do have a few choices near the
bottom. Improved Whirlwind, Improved Berserker Rage, and Improved Intercept are
all good talents, and with this build you have three points to put into any of
those two-point talents you wish. I chose two in Improved Whirlwind and one in
Improved Intercept here, which goes along with more of an instance PvE damage
mindset, but you may want more in Improved Intercept or Berserker Rage if you
intend to PvP or solo grind more.

Fury DPS Build

Protection Build's
This is your bread-and-butter warrior tanking build, fulfilling the role the warrior is
basically built for. Quickly getting staple top-tier talents in both Arms and
Fury, the rest of your points go straight for absorbing damage and dealing out
threat. As far as instances go, the benefits of Tactical Mastery, Improved
Shield Bash, and Improved Disarm are relatively limited; but as for the rest of
the tree, you've got enough points for most everything and most everything is
what you want. Sure to make you a tanking machine, it can be difficult solo
grinding quests or gold and PvP isn't much of an option at all, so unless
tanking is all you want to do you may want to try something else.

Shadex's Builds Empty Mage

Post  Shadex Thu Sep 20, 2007 1:37 pm

Mage Guide

The mages is your bread-and-butter spell DPS, the baseline against which other
classes are compared. There really aren't too many mage tricks: No DoTs to speak of,
no pets, just nukes. Of course, the mage is also known for having the most useful
crowd control spell in the game, with a couple other snares to help them keep
their distance, and a few talents that do something besides direct damage... but
for the most part, all of these skills exist to help the mage get into place to
launch a nuke. If that sounds good to you, than the Mage is your class.

Arcane Builds
Not too much confusion about this build, skipping two clearly subpar talents and
getting everything else. Getting everything in the Arcane tree allows you all
of the Arcane tree's benefits: Mana management, a bit of survivability, some
utility (i.e. Slow), and great burst damage largely thanks to the ever popular
Arcane Power and Presence of Mind. Pure Arcane is primarily a raiding PvE spec,
but there are some talents thrown in that increase PvP effectiveness as well,
even if it's not to your ultimate potential. Something a bit different to
consider if you grow weary of your mage throwing fireballs.

Arcane Build

Fire Builds

Sacrificing some of the more PvE oriented fire talents to get enough in Arcane
for Presence of Mind opens up considerable burst potential, always a very
welcome thing for PvP. The only thing better than a 4000 Pyroblast crit to the
face is a 4000 Instant Cast Pyroblast crit to the face. In addition, you pick
up Improved Counterspell, which is invaluable when staring down enemy
spellcasters. Sacrficing Dragon's Breath and a small bit of damage for such
potential is probably a good exchange if all you plan to do with your mage is PvP.

Fire Build

Frost Builds

Frost is probably the lowest DPS of the mage trees in a PvE setting, but Shatter
coupled with Ice Lance makes that statement somewhat less certain for PvP.
Either way, Frost's survival is unmatched by any other Mage talents, and in
getting nearly everything from the Frost tree you can be effective in either PvE
or PvP situations. While great for one who often switches their focus, there
are some refinements that can be made to specialize.

Shadex's Builds Empty Hunter

Post  Shadex Thu Sep 20, 2007 1:45 pm

Hunter Guide

The Hunter is unique in that they deal ranged DPS as spellcasters do, but most of
the damage they deal is physical in the vein of the melee classes. The
combination, coupled with the most fleshed-out and powerful pets in the game,
make the Hunter one of the easiest classes to level with while dealing consistent
damage and keeping their opponents at bay. Played well, the trapping and kiting
abilities of the Hunter make it one of the most useful classes to have anywhere.

Beast Mastery Builds

The Beast Mastery Hunter is regarded as a strong contender for a leveling build. As you
get deeper into the three, your pet becomes a killing machine, dealing a
surprising amount of consistent damage while keeping mobs focused on it rather
than you, making for quick, efficient grinding. Twelve points in Marksmanship
are well spent; 5% crit for you, quite a bit of attack power for your pet, and a
significant chunk of extra Focus every time you crit help overall damage
considerably. The tree gains considerable PvP viability through Beastial Wrath,
The Beast Within, and Serpent's Swiftness, allowing the hunter and his pet to ignore
almost all crowd control other players can throw at you while dealing
considerable damage. Ferocious Inspiration and your pet's increased offtanking
capabilities make it a viable choice for small five-man groups, but if you ever
plan on raiding with a hunter, you may want to consider something else.

Beast Build

Survival Builds

Survival is an odd tree. Rather than increasing the damage viability of either
the hunter or its pet, the focus is on getting the hunter out of dangerous situations alive
while creating ever-necessary distance between the hunter and his opponent. Hunter talents
such as Clever Traps, Entrapment, and Resourcefulness make your traps common and
deadly, be that deadliness by damage or by stuns. Deflection, Deterrence, and
Counterattack combine to make you almost able to stunluck at close range,
certainly enough to lay a trap and get distance on your foes. Expose Weakness,
Master Tactician, and Thrill of the Hunt help give you some of the damage and
stamina of a Marksmanship Hunter. While it doesn't have a purpose as clear-cut
as the other trees, Survival can help tremendously in getting out of sticky
situations and keeping you alive for a good, long time.

Survival

Marksmanship
Marksmanship's focus is on raising your own damage, dealing out huge crits and
consistent DPS; going a fair bit into Marksmanship is very common for all
Hunters, but as you get deeper it really starts to shine for PvP. This build
focuses on the burst damage that PvP is built on, with talents such as Barrage
and Improved Barrage, Rapid Killing, and Mortal Shots creating some very large
numbers. Scatter Shot and Improved Concussive Shot are invaluable at keeping
opponents at bay. A quick trip into Survival yields increased range, higher
damage versus Humanoids (which includes all PvP opponents), and Entrapment,
great at stopping advancing foes. There are some difficult decisions to make
for the Marksmanship tree, so you'll want to poke around and see what works for
you, but I've found success with this.

Nice topic mate! It's cool to know the pros and cons of each build.

One thing bothers me though. It'll be very nice if people posted which talents of their tree don't work. In that way everyone can make a conclusion of which talents they prefer.

And once again... GOOD JOB! Wink

Well ok, ill post a guide with the talents to use, to be a healer, or disco priest, just to point out which work and which dont.

Ok, if u wanna be a healer in that server, u must know that MOST of the HOLY talents dont work.

If you wanna get the best and the most healing out of you, considering all those non working talents its great to use discipline / holy hibryd, going abit deep in the disco.

http://wowhead.com/?talent=bxoGzhxt0peZbxtcf0o

And well, that would mean you are not so good in pvp and pve

Thats why i use abit different hibryd. Almost pure Disco, abit in holy and shadow, just the basic talents there. That gives you nice damage and survivability, while sacrificing little of the healing.

http://wowhead.com/?talent=bxoGzhGt0pEobxxzZx

Spirit tap is good if you got lots of spirit like me Smile i have around 300 so that makes it 600 when i kill a mob, great regen and helps alot with the grind xD
Pain suppression is the best thing you need in pvp. that Damage lowering could be life saviour countless times.
Well thats it
And remember i havent done it according to the talents themselve, but to the WORKING and NOT WORKING ones Wink

I can't leave without pointing a few things out:
Arcane concentration is bugged, you get the buff, but the spells' cost isn't reduced.
Impact is bugged, stuns the caster as well.
Mana shield ain't really useful.
The cost of Blink is quite manageable, even without Improved Blink.
You took Spell Power, why don't you get Frost talents instead of Fire to crit often and R E A L L Y hard (250% (are the multipliers additive or multiplicative?))

Like... this?

Fire sucks at the moment, u will get better frostbolt crits than pyroblast
more frost > arcane power frost
coz you are able to do constant 4k crits for example on level 70, not 5-6k once in 3 minutes with arcane power and 2-3k normal Smile

The efficiency of Mana Shield depends on your mana reserves, with 10 k mana at lvl 70 the constant drain won't be very hindering, but with 3k a 300 point (rank 3, I think) Mana Shield will drain 20% of your total - and you still have to use the mana for other spells!

Get your best mana gear if you're planning to use Mana Shield.

Shadex's Builds Empty My mage talent build

Post  madame Sat Dec 15, 2007 2:52 pm

Ok this is my mage talent build. This build exploits some server bugs (improved scorch in fire talent needs only 1 point to work 100% of the time) but who will every notice?

Link: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mage/talents.html?0000000000000000000000050503101010000000000000505320310235013051051

Ok ok I know that everyone will start saying that an elemental mage is weak as it does not excel in anything but, full frost is not available as many talents don't work.

This build is good for bossing (Ignite is bugged- sometimes it does 40% damage every 2 sec for 4 sec when your spell crits instead of 40% damage over 4 sec) Plus the scorch helps out a lot if there are warlocks in your raid group too.

The build is also effective at pvp as the CD for fireblast is reduced and shatter would mean that your fire blast would crit and ignite very very often.

By the way, I hate the arcane tree. =P
